2025 Fall Season Calendar of Events

Please note! We have done away with just one weekend for Hometown Heroes! This year, all military and first responders get free admission any day of the week all season long. Proper ID required, please.

Grampy’s Village Zoo, with all their wonderful farm baby animals, will be at the farm every weekend this fall. Here’s your chance to get up-close and personal with the friendliest animals on eart.

August 30: Opening Day for Fall!

New for 2025 – Jumping pad, bubble house, brand new maze design, soft serve ice cream, a hay bale mountain, our very own castle, crafts, new bakery items and more! Don’t forget the pig races and apple cider doughnuts!

September 6-7: Duck’em Shoot Down

Savor the fun! One last summer weekend of water blaster fun! Come ready to play Duck’em Shoot Down. Stay tuned for more details.

September 13-14: Celebrating the Virginia History Carousel

Virginia’s own historic carousel that kids can ride as many times as they would like! There’s even a carousel in our maze this year! Come celebrate the valley traditions of “lawn parties” with old-fashioned games, treats, food trucks and more.

September 20-21: Fairies, Dragons, Friends & Foes

Enter the world of make believe, where fairies live with all their friends. Dragons (the friendly ones, of course) have taken over the Dragon’s Lair! Play legendary fairy games. See the Dragon Tamer! There will be costumed characters and a Fairy King. Enjoy a Fairy Godmother Tea (reservations required). Other fun includes a selection of vendors, face painting, crafts, scavenger hunts, food trucks and parades all weekend. Taste testing in the Country Store, too! Come dressed to join the fun — there will be a pirate’s chest of prizes. Presented in cooperation with Act 1 Theatre.

September 25: Homeschool Day at Back Home-on the Farm

Take advantage of Fall Farm Learning Labs geared to PreK to 2nd grade levels. Activities include storytelling at the stage, ride the historic carousel, and a hayride to the pumpkin patch. Get more information and purchase tickets online.

October 11-12 and 18-19: The Virginia Pumpkin Festival

It’s all things pumpkin with our very own pumpkin princess, free crafts, face painting, and thousands of pumpkins in sizes and shapes like you’ve never seen before! Sage Bird Cidery and Dan’s Steak House will be on hand. Enjoy special bakery treats and pumpkin ice cream. Make sure you see the big pumpkins! There will be costume parades and so much more! Plan to show off your costume and join the fun!

October 25-26: Halloween Party

Scavenger hunts, pumpkin princess, free crafts and special appearances of other farm friends. PIck your own pumpkins and paint them right here at the farm.  Costumes encouraged.

November 1-2: Pumpkin Demolition

No one does it better! We’ll blow up some pumpkins and let you take out your frustrations on all the poor pumpkins left in the field! Here’s your one last time to celebrate the Halloween and Fall seasons!

November 9-10: Final Fall Weekend

Weather permitting!
