Gardens in Bloom Garden Tour: May 30 from 10am – 2pm
Tour these Master Gardeners’ home gardens in Harrisonburg:
Rose Hill – Sycamore Gardens – Kauffman’s Garden
It’s a first for the Valley! Our Central Shenandoah Valley Master Gardeners are opening up three of their home gardens to the general public for a tour, and they’re all our neighbors!
Tour will include a rose garden, water garden, labyrinth, rhododendron, azalea gardens and extensive perennial beds. Charlie Williams from Valley Water Gardens will be at Sycamore Gardens from 10am until noon.
Tickets are $20 per person and will include a boxed lunch served at Back Home-on the Farm. Participants must provide their own transportation. Get information and make a reservation!
- Rose Hill will be a treat for any and all rose lovers. Debbie Turner has a collection of well over 100 antique roses. She and her husband Gary built the house 25 years ago and have a terrific view toward the northwestern part of Rockingham County. Debbie has been a Master Gardener since 2001.
- These photos are from Sycamore Gardens. Bob and Joy Coakley have been gardening in this spot for 25 years. They have a water garden and many shade flower beds. Joy has been a Master Gardener since 2011 and loves to grow cut flowers for arranging.
- These photos are from the Kauffman Garden. Glenn has been collecting azalea and rhododendrons for almost 30 years in his gardens. He and his wife Mary love many different types of perennials. Glenn has been a Master Gardener since 2011.
